What’s up, Everyone?
I hope that everyone had a fantastic holiday season (I, personally, celebrate Christmas and I can honestly say that this year was one of the best Christmases I have ever had). The #CramAThon starts today and runs until January 2nd, which is the perfect way to ring in the New Year.
Now, listen. I really don’t have the time to read this week. My best friend is flying into town from Missouri today. I am spending Wednesday-Saturday with her. That basically takes out the 27th-30th in terms of reading because as much as I love books, I love my bestie more. Therefore, I really only expect to read today, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. So my CramAThon is technically only four days long. Realistically, am I going to read seven books in seven days? No. Heck no. I can’t even do that in the summer for the BooktubeAThon, and I am not busy at all during that time of year. Am I going to be able to finish most of the challenges for CramAThon? Also, no. Here is a list of all the challenges I am not completing:
-Read a book with under 200 pages
-Read a book that was gifted to you
-Read one of the hosts’ favorite short books
-Read seven books
Here is a list of challenges I am actually completing:
-Book with LGBTQIA+ rep
A Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee. I have wanted to read this book all year, and I am excited to have my hands on it. Allison from Hardback Hoarder did mention that there was a joke about self harm, which I am really dreading. We will see though... - Shortest book on your TBR
New Boy by Tracy Chevalier. My family friend let me borrow this book (so technically it is temporarily gifted to me. Maybe this counts for the second challenge. It’s up for debate.) It is a retelling of Othello, and it is really short, so I am really excited about this one. Also, this book is only five pages over the 200 page challenge, so I could just forget that those pages exist and accomplish two more challenges. Again, up for debate. - Book with your favorite color on the cover
Made You Up by Francesca Zappia. I have heard some mixed things about the representation present in this book. However, I loved Eliza and Her Monsters so much that I am really hoping to love it. I will keep the representation in mind while reading (although I can’t speak for it in the end). If I completed all of these books, then I would be reading 1,145 pages. Since it usually takes me several days just to read one 500+ page book, I wouldn’t be surprised if I only got through one of the books on my list. I am setting my goals high though, and we’ll see how it goes.
I also have to read As You Wish by Chelsea Sedoti because I have an ARC for it and need to get my review up by January 1st.
Let me know if you are participating in CramAthon. Do you think you’ll do better than I will? Did you decide to take on more of the challenges? I would love to know. Tweet at me @Officalsamepage
I’ll see you all later this week!

PS. Most people are posting their year end videos this week. However, I don’t want to post anything until the year is over because I want to have all of the books I read in 2017 to be considered when making my lists. I also just finished a book that made it to my favorites list, so I could fall in love with these last three books. Most of my lists for 2017 come out in the first week of January. Look out for them then!
